Work-Study Internship: Resource Centers for Climate & Belonging
Office of Diversity and Outreach – LGBTQ Resource Center, Multicultural Resource Center, Undocumented Student Services
Duties and Responsibilities
The Resource Center intern reports directly to the Executive Director of the Resource Centers and works closely with the Assistant Directors. This position is scheduled for approximately 10-12 hours per week, with some evening hours and remote work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the intern will:
- Support the Assistant Directors with programmatic and logistical tasks for LGBTQ, MRC, and Undocu events
- Review the RC websites and document edits needed, broken links, updated resources needed, etc.
- Research and identify educational materials that focus on education, health, community, activism, leadership opportunities, and more
- Collaborate with the Resource Center interns on a social media strategy to bring visibility to our work
- Create engaging content using Canva with special highlights for cultural heritage months and observance days
- Provide staffing coverage of the Resource Centers at Parnassus during open hours
- Attend weekly supervision meetings and professional development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Full-time enrollment in a graduate degree program at the University of California, San Francisco
- Work-study eligibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Former experience in Student Affairs, intercultural work, sexuality education, or social justice programming
- A firm understanding of LGBTQIA+ communities, intersectionality, anti-racist and social justice frameworks
