Tracy L. García (she/they) is a community builder and higher education professional with over 12 years of experience working in student affairs and campus resource centers across University of California campuses.
She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Resource Center at UCSF, where she oversees LGBTQ+ programming, campus partnerships, communications, and core operations in support of LGBTQ+ community care and connection. Their role centers on fostering affirming campus environments, strengthening collaboration across the institution, and supporting learning and engagement that reflects the needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ communities.
Tracy has held professional roles at UCLA, UC Santa Cruz, and UCSF, working at the intersections of education, wellness, advocacy, and community engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz, with an academic focus on Latinx, queer, and feminist studies. They are currently a graduate student in the Master’s in Library and Information Science program at San José State University, with interests in archival work, multimedia collections, and community memory.
As a first-generation xicana queer femme from Southeast Los Angeles now based in the East Bay, Tracy is especially interested in how archives and information systems can uplift marginalized voices and support more just, creative, and community-centered futures.
